Sweeping emerald arcs cradle bold explosions of yellow, white and cobalt in a composition that feels like the burst of life after a long silence. Thick palette-knife textures catch the light from every angle, revealing new details as the viewer moves around the piece. 'The Awakening' is energetic, optimistic and full of discovery.
James Patrick Ahern, an abstract artist, draws profound inspiration from the natural world, working from studios in Florida, Denmark, and Spain. His art captures the emotions and wonder left by landscapes, rather than the landscapes themselves, through layers of color and texture.
