Born in upstate New York, Russell Elton Walsh developed a passion for art through early exposure to the works at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. Without formal training, he honed his skills by studying artists like Andrew Wyeth and John Singer Sargent, and later, the classics in Europe. His work, spanning soft pastel, pastel pencil, charcoal, graphite, acrylic, and oil, captures gentle yet powerful subjects meant to evoke memory and emotion.
