Nature never repeats itself. Neither do these four paintings. In 1970, the first painting of nature I made was of a Bedford Oak. More than half a century later, nature remains the strongest influence in my work—not as something I try to copy, but as a language of movement, rhythm, density and change.
Jeffrey Terreson (b. 1955, Bedford, NY) attended the Columbus College of Art and Design on a full merit scholarship. Initially an illustrator, he shifted his focus entirely to painting, drawing inspiration from post-war contemporary artists, Eastern spirituality, and nature. His work, characterized by gestural layers of oil paint, is featured in over 150 private and corporate collections, including the United Nations and IBM.
