Nura Sainab Saker

Nura Sainab Saker (b. 1988, Hamburg, Germany) is a figurative painter of German and Syrian origin who lives and works in Barcelona. Initially trained in fashion design at the AMD Academy Fashion & Design, Hamburg, where she graduated in 2010, her practice has evolved toward oil painting and printmaking as its central disciplines, developing an intuitive pictorial language of markedly expressive character. She has participated in an artistic residency at Studio 46, Joan Barbará, Barcelona, where she developed the practice that gave rise to the present series. Her work has been presented through SHOWstudio, London, and she has held a solo exhibition at Studio 46 Private Gallery, Barcelona.
