What began as a few hours spent photographing at the MN Landscape Arboretum, expanded into a major part of my portfolio. The attraction to irises comes from my background in cast iron and bronze sculpture. The iris is incredibly sculptural from its first petals to its last curls of blossoms.
Cynthia Dickinson grew up amidst the verdant forests and crystalline lakes of Minnesota, an environment that profoundly shaped her photographic oeuvre. Her father's knowledge as a forester instilled in her a deep appreciation for natural landscapes, which remains central to her work. Dickinson's photography explores themes of nature, climate change, and the interaction between people and their environments.
